Snacking Cakes
Obsessed. That’s the word, I use most to describe this cookbook. Yossy Arefi’s recipes are simple, straightforward and come together quickly. Many require only a single bowl, whisk and a wee bit of arm strength. You might need to get out a mixer for a few of the frostings. And so far, every cake has come out of the oven perfect and moist. Greg and I agree that the Vanilla Buttermilk cake with Strawberry Frosting is our favorite. That’s the lovely vision in pink below. The frosting is made with finely ground (a great reason to bring out your mortar and pestle) freeze-dried strawberries. I’ve included a couple more photos of other cakes we’ve very much enjoyed.
