Have you met Dorie?

For my birthday, a few years ago, my dear friend Michele gifted me a copy of Dorie Greenspan’s new cookbook Dorie’s Cookies. To be fair, she did ask what I wanted, and this book was at the very top of my list.

This wonderful, and that’s probably an understatement, cookbook is chock-full of over 300 cookie recipes. I’ve now made it my life’s work to bake each and every one of them. The really great thing about these recipes is that they all “just work.” I’ve not had a single cookie not turn out as advertised. Dorie’s directions are very clear and she takes you through each step of the baking process thoroughly. She also imparts some genius tips like rolling the dough between two sheets of parchment and of course weighing all your ingredients. I’m not sure why it’s taken so long to get on the weighing bandwagon. I really do think it makes a difference. Especially when it comes to flour quantities.

All of this to say, I’m having such fun baking again. You can easily follow my #dorieandmikebakecookies adventure over on my Instagram feed. Below, I’ve included my photos of most of the cookies I’ve made so far. The Glazed Coffee-Cardamom Cookies, Lucky Charm Brownies and Smoky, Cheesy Cookies have been my favorites so far, but I’ve still got 300 or so more cookies to get to!
